Welcome to Pickles' Brutal Contests! Aka: The Night Surgeon
Ladies and gentleman! Boys and ghouls! Step right up! Behind this curtain lies a ghastly concoction of delight! Horror! Fantasy and terror! Your every wish is our command! Your every whimsical desire brought to life. But I'm warning you...There's always a price! Welcome to the greatest show UNEARTHED!
Ah, it's that time of year again when the Surgeon finally crawls out from their sleep-- and rips open the gate to hell-!... I mean... when they finally decided to awaken from their summer hibernation away from the heat, and cut loose with some fun, mind-boggling, daring contests that are not for the weak of heart!
Yet... whichever warrior deemed fit enough to win first place and receive an award... will be deemed higher among the rest, and promised special rights for a year- the rights that the dreadful surgeon isn't allowed to touch their internal organs!
..... and receive a very special prize from the surgeon themself.
So who will be brave enough to come forth and reveal their skills? To fight for the throne, free pass, and other gifts to be rained down on the one who is victorious? Which warrior will risk everything they have just to prove that they are the best?!
Actually, it's very simple- there will be a barrage of contests featuring many different skills. Pleasing to those of the artist genre, to the writers, from the writers, to the creators, and so on and so forth. Anyone is absolutely welcome to participate in these dreadful games, actually encouraged!
The good doctor is looking for all sorts of different talents, this is just a little something to spice things up a bit around here, catch everyone's attention, have a challenge to participate in in your free time.
And whether the Surgeon knows you or not- it will not effect your chances of winning, oh no... in fact- it may make it even harder considering they've already had a taste of your organs!
Those who participate will receive minor gifts as thanks for being such a brave soul to go up against your former comrades in a race to win the gold, and that much can be promised, and the doctor never breaks any promises.
So step right up- show us what you've got! Even if you think it may or may not be good enough, there is still a chance you could win- the artist is always harder on themselves than the actual judges! (learned from experience) So you may never know!
So please... come, come and sell your soul-.... er... Ah... play these wicked games with me, let's see if you can be good enough to become the doctor's apprentice...

Insane Rules! Aka: The Stupid Rules that No One Cares About
Naturally- all Underground Rules apply before mine, completely. Obey them, and we're cool.
There will be a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, place prizes for sure, special prizes.
One entry at a time (unless otherwise stated, so be on the look out!). I know this is common sense, but I've gotta make myself clear here. You can enter any contest once with one entry, if you decide before the contest ends that you want to switch it out, edit your post and lemme know that you swapped it, and I'll happily do that for you- even if it's last minute!
By entering I'm allowed to use your art (if any) regardless of contest results. Of course stating that you are the one who made it- I wouldn't take credit for work that isn't mind. Believe you me, had that happen on more than one occasion, not a happy bastard.
You can- no.. PLEASE sign your work, somewhere in the bottom corner but at least to where it can be seen if it really does bother you that someone else may use it. I want to make sure everyone feels comfortable here.
Always check back at the "Contest of the ---" section. Why? Because when one contest is won- there is a possibility the post will be edited and there will be a brand new contest!
Lastly, and most of all- every thing you write/draw/sprite must be your OWN. No copywrited anything, but... then again- I trust you all enough to have the common respect NOT to do this so... I can only hope my faith was not misplaced.

Just know I was in Creative Writing in High School and College, and my works were actually good enough to be in a Literary Magazine. If that isn't proof enough for you, I don' know what is!

Participants: - There will only be two first prizes given away for now (minus the participation prizes), however if we get enough people to participate, we may have enough to give away a possible second and third. - One first prize will be for the picture, and the second the banner.
Theme: Halloween
Pictures! Pictures! And more pictures! Yes- I'm talking photographs here! Of you-? that's completely up to you! I'll take any, whether it be you, your pet, your parents, a picture of a haunting in your house- anything as long as its somehow related to you and/or you or someone around you has taken the picture! So that way maybe anyone and everyone can participate.
Must be recent, like... from this date on forward- or at least nothing from last year's Halloween. They can even be of your house/yard decorated for Halloween-

Okay so... I don't have a pokesona yet, and a LOT of other people do! So... the good doctor is getting a bit jealous and craves their own Pokesona! However... with so many pokemon to love, it's hard to choose!
... That's why I'm leaving it up to you guys!
Spriters, I'll give you a small list of Pokemon that are my absolute favorites and the reasons behind it. Get creative, use your imagination! The one with the coolest, most metal looking one that you know I'll definitely enjoy making it my own and calling it MY true Pokesona. It's your choice which pokemon you do and don't use.
Take their descriptions and personality into consideration when choosing, not just the looks!
List: - Growlithe: Remember that old episode with James and his Growlithe, Growly? I cried as a kid. (shut up!) The loyalty that dog showed, the protection- it broke at my heart at the beauty that animals (pokemon too!) had to show. Besides, I'm a dog lover, simple as that. - Arcanine: It's just the more evolved and beautiful form of a pup. Loyal, speedy, and the first 'legendary' I had ever seen. Plus, I had a little Arcanine toy that I called "Inuyasha" after my addiction to the show. He was truly special. - Sandslash: Not as much as the dog/fox pokemon- but another pokemon toy named "Slasher". He was so badass. - Shellder: Again, much like Sandslash, not as much as the canine pokemon- HOWEVER, he was my VERY first Pokemon toy I ever laid my hands on when I was just in Kindergarten, I'll never forget him. I named every Shelder I caught on the games after my real name. - Vulpix: --- I.. sorta have more bad than good memories of this pokemon since she's associated with an ex of mine. However, her beauty never fades. - Ninetails: Same. - Cubone: .... Hehe, roleplay. Nough said. And... you feel sympathy for the poor thing. Wearing its mothers skull? And I'll never forget the original pokemon episode where cubone was crying... - Umbreon: THIS is up there with Growlithe/Arcanine. Choas (purposefully misspelled) as not only my first Umbreon, but remained all my other Umbreon names, later became a rolepaly character- he has came a long way. - Kabutops: .... scythes for hands? I always dreamed about owning my very own Kabutops! I just.. didn't want to do the work of leveling up Kabuto. Haha. - Aerodactyl: A used to be favorite- reminds me of another ex. - Mew: Another ex. - Bayleef: One of my older cousin's favorite when we played, when we used to be like sisters instead of worse enemies. - Totodile/Feraligatr: The first starter I can actually remember naming. Hehe, well, when he was a cute little harmless Totodile! So badass. I remember him. - Houndour/Houndoom/ MEGA HOUNDOOM: Closely attached to these two as much as I am Growlithe/Arcanine and Umbreon. Always were in my top favorites. - Raikou: It looks to be the child of both Entei and Suicune- if that isn't badass enough with his sharp sabortooth-tiger like fangs... try thunder and lightning! I LOVE thunderstorms. - Suicune: The dog pokemon that can walk on water and purify nature. Mysterious and beautiful- who doesn't love a Suicune? Plus, it was the face of Crystal, the game stolen from me. - Ho-oh: The wild bird that got away from me when I was little because I didn't realize I didn't NEED to defeat it and needed to capture it. Plus, it's the pokemon at the end of the original introduction to the first season of pokemon. - Lugia: .... he can talk telepathically, is the master of the sea, only comes out when his other three birds are in trouble- his VOICE.... badass. - Poochyena/Mightyena: Again, up there with Growlithe/Arcanine, Umbreon, and Houndour/Houndoom. Dog pokemon, absolutely adorable and stunning when he evolves- plus his and Mightyena's Personality. Especially Mightyena- in fact, I think i took a quiz saying I was a Mightyena... or a friend called me that in college. Or both. -Shedinja: Pretty much the shell of a pokemon that came to life on it's own with one HP? THAT, was wicked. First mention of death in pokemon in a way to me. (ignoring Lavender Town and Cubone!) - Delcatty: I am NOT explaining. You all can go suck a fat one. -Electrike/Manectric: Not as much as the other dog pokemon, even though I like the color blue. - Zangoose: He was also a famous Pokemon toy I used a lot, loved him to death. Ironically- this was Arcanine "Inuyasha's" full demon form. Don't ask me, I had a great imagination when I was younger. - Absol/Mega Absol: Description. Dog-like. Known for being called "Silver" one of my oldest RP characters. Badass. Beautiful. Deadly. Misunderstood. MEGA Absol is EVEN MORE badass and wicked. - Groundon: I was a Groundon fan not a Kyogre fan- ironically enough? I played Kyogre often when we played with our Pokemon toys. Love him. - Rayquaza: The FIRST pokemon to look like a dragon type to me. EPIC, when it's shiny. Badass, forces peace between the two idiots. Sounds great to me. - Shinx/Luxray: .... Ah... well- always my starter on PF which makes him special and always usually named "Charles", many claim he looked more like a lion, I say dog. He is pretty special to me, above Electrike, but... that's just about it. - Honchkrow: Dark blue and red. - Garchomp: My only favorite out of that line. - Riolu/Lucario/Mega Lucario: Personality in the movie, what they can do with the whole 'aura' thing is similar to what I experience and can do, can feel. Plus, Riolu is adorable. And that friggin' tail from Mega Lucario! More red than black, hell yes. - Gallade: The protective protection pokemon in my eyes. Fiercely loyal and me being a sword fanatic... it just fits. Swordsmanship- I mean, can sense what it's foe is thinking... description too! - Darkrai: You can ask Rits- this was the pokemon I most familiarized myself with. For one reason or another. I mean... he's.. pretty special too. I can't explain it, but Darkrai is one of my top most favorite pokemon. - Cresselia: opposites attract and- I named her after Vincent Valentine's love interest many times because her name reminds me of that and her description. - Giratina: Again, dragon pokemon. - Shaymin: Just because dog. - Zorua/Zoroark: I was OBSESSED with getting a Zorua when they first unleashed images of him. He was just so damn... I can't even think of the word. I fell in love at first sight. And Zoroark reminded me of Vincent Valentine in his beast form so- I couldn't resist to name my little Zorua Vincent. - Haxorus: Meh. - Chandelure: Ghost? Who knows why I fell in love with a Chandelure, but I had one in my party at level 100 kicking the pokemon leagues ass. Refused to fight them until I had it fully evolved. - Hydreigon: ONE. The Brutal Pokemon. THREE heads. Dragon. Reminds me of Rits- Description. I mean COME ON. That's brutal. Heh. - Cobalion: I grew really attached to mine by the end of the game. Didn't care about the others. He was all I needed. Defeated the elite four with him. - Thundurus Therian Form: DRAGON. And Again, thunder. - Tornadus Therian Form: EPIC BIRD pokemon. - Mega Ampharos: *eye twitch* So... beautiful. - Mega Charizard (X) and Y: BLACK, BLUE FLAMES... the way Y Charizard looks... DAMN. Theme: October/Halloween
I know it's a little early- but dammit I couldn't resist! I'm absolutely in love with the month, dressing up and scaring the literal CRAP out of everyone is my passion. I would DIE if I could just get a job scaring people all year round.
Halloween is my most favorite holiday of all and takes place in my most favorite season of the year- fall!
Now... how you go about this is up to you. You can write me a short story with a fandom I know;
List - Metalocalypse (Automatic win if you are the only user to do this) - Attack on Titan - Blue Exorcist - Death Note - Loveless - Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core - Starfighter - Kingdom Hearts - Pokemon (with the pokemon I've listed) - Warriors (though the cats wouldn't know about Halloween) - Repo! - Black Butler - Etc. etc! Just ask if I know it, and I'll let you know if you plan on doing a short fandom.
However, that's not your only option! You can get creative and just do something about yourself or your friends, your pets, a poem on the holiday itself, write a poem on death, write me a scary story, a scary poem- I don't care what the hell you do and what you do it with!
.... yaoi IS a bonus, I'm not going to lie but not a must!
But the goal here is the one who is the most creative and uses their imagination the most. The one who does it different- or the scariest! Hehe... I like that... the bloodest, the darkest- the one closest to the true spirit of the good Doctor- of Halloween!

I realized I could either go full English Class here, or just be short brief, and exactly to the point- and I think for my sanity and yours, I'm going to stick to that.
Anything that is written (or typed in this case) that has some serious thought and creativity put into it. Whether it's a Novel, Novella, or Short Story, Poetry, Epic or whatever the case may be... it's allowed. Hell, even if you drew a little comic that in it's own way, could be considered part of literature. *shrug*
The only thing I'm not asking for is:

Yeah, pretty much that. Otherwise, any form of your writing skills period, is okay. If you still have questions about it, feel free to give me a small example of the idea you have, and I'll let you know. But otherwise, it's pretty laid back as long as it's got something in it and not put together. Like.. no ending (unless you plan on having an open ending) no middle, or no end-

Sorry I'm so late! Things have been hectic around here. Working full-time is pretty tough, especially when you work well over 40 hours because you get called in when you least expect it.
Anyway!!! Announcing the Winners of the first Contest:(even though I wish we had more entries!)
Quetz and Ritsu! They tied with the anonymous results of Eren and Erwin. (oh the irony, double 'e', heh.) I took the test and somehow managed to end up with both.
Mew, you were close, and I can totally see where you would come from with that- however, Levi would have been an even closer answer considering I am completely and totally a perfectionist. Just ask my boss and professors, haha.
Congrats guys! I'll post another week contest up soon and hopefully get myself on just enough to announce the winners and disappear again if I have to.
