[i]"It's done...it's finally done! See? I did exactly as you said!" Spoke a man sitting in a room filled with darkness. The only lighting in the area came from the glowing screen of a single computer. The light that was produced revealed the metallic table, chair and the person speaking with excitement. His hair was a dirty blond that was short and oily, as if it had not received proper washing in some time or he simply had been sweating. The blue eyes were blood shot as they looked to his left. Clinging to his skin was a plain white shirt and pants that had black blotches on them from blood that had long since lost it's signature red color.

"Of course I can." The response was give to no one but was spoken as if a request had been given. With a few more clicks and clacks ringing out from keys being hit upon the keyboard, a smile caressed the blonds face as the program he had been working on was submitted to the internet. But not just anywhere on the internet. The ramifications of that programs uploading never even crossed the mans mind. Care for what world the program was about to infect was also missing, as was the sheer thrill of discover. All that was there was simple joy at the completion of a task.

A smile came across his face as he stood up and shut down the computer. As the computer was shut down and the last source of light in the room died, a loud, deformed roar emerged from the door to use room being busted down. But the program creator didn't move an inch, his mind long since corrupted by the Markers influence. All that occurred was the spread of his arms as the blades belonging to the terror in the dark soon ended his life. As one nightmare ended, another was about to begin...

"So, you're telling me that a hole suddenly emerged in a mountain and there's a red crystal inside?" Spoke a short blond haired digimon known as Wizardmon.

Currently, he was standing behind a desk to the medics station. The medic station was inside of a large casino owned by a Devimon. The name of the place was Red Moon with a blue half moon sign that would be lit up to attract visitors. The town it was settled in wasn't very large, but there were many visitors that came to play the games at the Red Moon. The first level two floors were dedicated to gambling games where as the third was a healing center. Sometimes, customers would drink until they were sink and would often need medical assistance. Hence where Wizardmon came in. The fourth and final level contained lodging for certain employees and also held the office of the casino's owner.

"I'm serious. I was on my way back here after chasing off that unruly mon and part of that mountain outside of town just suddenly opened it. Went inside and a weird crystal like thing was there. It looked like a double helix but it had a third side." Spoke a taller digimon known as Myotismon. Though he preferred to be called Vyers.

His personality was different then most of his kind. He was actually good natured, naturally happy and often kind. Due to his usually bubbly nature that was useful at drawing mons in, he would often be a greeter or server at night.

From a bit of ways away, another digimon's cat-ears flicked to life. Curiosity sparked itself into the pit of her stomach, making her turn her head in the direction of the other two speaking digimon. Her earrings, which were two large golden orbs dangling from the bases of her ears, jingled lightly before settling at the base of her jawline and nestled in the red of her hair.

"He's not lying," she spoke up, gaining their attention. She turned herself all the way around. The Beastmon, known around the parts as Nefyrie, eyed the two of them through Hazel eyes. "I was up there a little while ago as well. There's something weird in there. At first, I thought it was just some of those dumb Drimogemon hacking away at the rock again, but it turns out it wasn't. I got a weird vibe from inside, so I didn't go in." She looked specifically at Vyers next. "You're saying there's some sort of weird crystal thing in there?"

She approached the two of them then, coming to stand just a few feet away.

The vampire turned to the Beastmon and nodded. A concerned look was currently displayed on his face.

"It was odd, to say the least. It had the double helix shape with an extra side, where the helix should have meet after the first loop thing it didn't, the second circle is uncompleted with spikes on the unfinished strands. It also looked to have a bunch of lines on it, like it's made out of smaller square crystals until you get to the tips. It has an oddly warm texture as well."

"You touched it?" The medic spoke, slightly surprised.

"Yup. I wanted to try and figure out what it was made out of. It was warm and it felt like it was made out'a metal, but it looks more like crystal then metal. I didn't try to move it, just in case it belonged to someone there." Vyers responded after looking to the champion, curiosity replacing the concern as his face as he began to think.

Nefyrie knitted her eyebrows together, bringing a red claw up to her lip in thought. "Well, crystals can get warm... As can most metals. But the idea of a helix crystal thing showing up out of the blue is particularly odd."

She withdrew into her mind once more, thinking the whole thing over. It was quite some time before she spoke again, her words a bit more quieter than they had been before; "If it belonged to someone, don't you think they would'a picked it back up by now? After all, if it's made of crystal or whatever, it's gotta hold some sort of value." At the words, her lips curved up into a smirk behind the purple veil. Her golden eyes glittered, a hint of mischief in her pupils. "And with value most certainly comes thieves. So if it's still sitting there, maybe it doesn't actually belong to someone after all."

"Maybe there's a reason why they haven't tried to retrieve it?" The champion spoke, thinking as well.

"Possibly. Someone had to have created it though. Crystals or metal just forming into that shape...the chances of that happened are extremely low. Though if you want to go investigate it further, I'd be happy to accompany you." The vampire looked to Neyfrie with a soft smile on his face and hope in his sapphire blue eyes.

At that, the Ultimate digimon perked her ears up. Her large earrings clanged before a wide grin spread over her face from behind the veil. She looked eager, her two tails swaying behind herself and the rings on each of them clanging together.

"Yes," she said, almost immediately. "I want to get a good look at this thing." She paused, turning to look to Wizardmon, who had posed a rather important question that had appeared in her own mind. "Maybe. Maybe the answer poses itself at the scene. You coming with us, or are me and him," she pointed a claw to the Myotismon, "going as a pair?"

"No, you two go as a pair. Considering the time of night it is, I doubt anyone will need anything. Plus, most of the nocturnal digimon that visit us usually leave around this time in fear of being caught by the sun. But just in case, I should stay here to cover. Also, I suggest taking an Umbrella, just in case you don't get back in time." The last part was directed to Vyers, who nodded in response and ran out of the medical ward to go fetch one.

"Hey Neyfrie...can you do me a favor?" The champiom spoke, now that he was reasonably certain his friend was out of ear shot.

The beast pokemon turned her attention to the Wizardmon, a red eyebrow cocked in skepticism. She leaned onto one of her feet, a hand placing itself on her hip.

"What's up?" she murmured, tilting her head a little. Her voice was laced with a simple tone that may have suggested disinterest, but her eyes glittered with curiosity that suggested otherwise.

"If you two decide to go anywhere else after seeing the crystal thing, be sure to keep him away from mirrors. He doesn't do very well with them and garlic will make him puke. So if you two go out for dinner, you know where not to go." The wizards tone was rather teasing as a smile came on his face under the clothing he wore.

Neyfrie let out something of a snort before she flicked her tails almost disdainfully. However, there was a smirk behind her veil once again, and she nodded once to the Wizardmon. "Thanks for the info, but it may take more for me to consider something like a dinner."

And with that, she turned her back to the digimon and strode to the exit, her long tails swaying gracefully behind her. Her nails clinked against the floors, stopping when she stepped outside. The air was crisp around her and she hummed.

Things in the digital world had seemed pretty calm as of late, but the Beastmon couldn't help but feel as though something - or maybe someone - would disrupt that peace. She knitted her eyebrows, turning her head towards the direction of the mountain.

"I wonder just what you are..." she murmured to herself, hazel eyes narrowing.

Foot steps rang out as the vampire walked over to the Beastmon happily. A soft smile was on his face as his right hand clung onto an umbrella. The item proved to be made out of black fabric with the sole design focusing on blocking out the sun for those who stood under it. It was more of a parasol than an umbrella in truth.

"Can you fly by chance?" Vyers inquired, head leaning lightly to the left as he asked in curiosity.

The feline shook her head, red hair swishing about until it fell comfortably at her shoulders. "I can leap rather high, though," she murmured with a grin.

As a demonstration, the cat suddenly squatted before she thrust herself with powerful legs up into the air. She directed herself backwards, curving her spine back and doing a graceful flip before she landed near silently onto a branch of a tree that stood very nearly 50 ft. She was about 30ft off of the ground as she stared down at Myotismon, her tails swaying.

"Or, if you wanna fly me," she called, her grinning widening. "I most certainly wouldn't mind a lift~."

The vampire chuckled as he started to clap his hands, the parasol handing against his elbow. Once under the tree his body lifted off of the ground with his, his cape flowing softly behind him like backwards wings. Once close enough to the Beastmon he ceased clapping.

"Very, very good. As much as I'd like to watch your acrobatics, I believe flying would be the easiest way. Now, how would you like to accomplish this? My bats could lift you into the air, or I could hold you." His tone as first was impressed, but soon shifted to hopeful.

Nefyrie appeared to study the digimon, hazel eyes shifting hear and there to every part of him. Her eyebrows drew themselves together the slightest, wrinkling the olive skin of her forehead. Slowly, she straightened herself, holding a clawed hand out to him.

"If you drop me," she said, voice low, though it held a playful edge. "I will be sure that you will be placed in a coffin. And remain there."

Vyers smiled brightly as he then dashed forward and used one hand to gently scoop the feline digimon into his arms. One arm was support under the knees while the other arm supported the back. Her body was then pressed close to his own as he flew happily, smiling to her softly. In short, the ultimate was carrying her bridal style.

"I hope you don't mind. But this is the securest grip I can think of. And it gives me an excuse to cuddle." His tone was filled with joy as he snuggled a bit while flying. One of the bats accompanying him had an unamused expression.

Nefyrie hummed as a response, relaxing herself comfortably in the vampire's arms. She appeared to tolerate the cuddling, not bothering to really reciprocate the actions. Instead, she turned her attention forwards, ears appointed in the direction of the mountain.

"I don't care," she said simply, after a moment of prolonged silence. "As long as you don't drop me."

Vyers smiled brightly, fangs exposed in a joy filled grin as he carried Nefyrie happily. His grip tightened sightly just to be even more secure and he pressed her closer into his own body. His eyes moved away from the one in his arms and looked to the area ahead.

His speed of flight then increased significantly once he was sure the way was clear and his grip was secure. It only took a small bit of time before he had found the gaping hole of the mountain. Though he stoped short of landing as his wide eyes and already wide pupils expanded further. What was once a hole could no longer be called such. Now in it's place massive points of rocks dangled from the ceiling and rose from bottom, now forming a gaping jaw. Two craters were now in the mountain which even added eyes to the illusion of a gaping jaw.

"...That was not there when I was last here..." The vampire nearly whispered.

The beast digimon's own eyes widened and she shifted a bit in the vampire's arms to sit herself up. She stared down, studying the formation with curious eyes before she compressed her lips into a tight line. "I... I don't know what to tell you," she breathed. "Lower me. Let me down. I wanna get a closer look at this thing."

Truth be told, she felt a little intimidated. However, she tried to convince herself that maybe some digimon had done this as a simple prank to keep away other digimon from straying inside. Either way, the sight left an unsettling feeling in her stomach.

The vampire nodded as he flew inside of the stone structures jaw. The slight ping of worry was easily pushed aside as he landed on the floor of the structure. Once past the stone fangs the rocks on the inside were creepily smooth.

"The crystal triple helix should be further inside..." The tone was somewhat hesitant as he spoke as he looked around.

Nefyrie let out a gentle purr as she looked about the interior. Nothing short of what she expected from an average cave, but she had to admit that the smooth surfaces of the rocks was a bit odd. The rocks around these parts were known to be rather rough in exterior as opposed to smooth. However, the thought didn't bother her for too long, as she began to squirm from the Myotismon's arms until she managed to slip herself away and land with silent feet.

"Then lets go," she purred, resorting to all fours as opposed to bipedal. She turned to look up at Vyers. "Unless, of course, you're scared."

"You won't be able to get rid of me that easily." Vyers spoke as his eyes turned playfully fierce. His arms then shot out to grasp onto one of the Beastmons arms. Once both of his had her one in his embrace, he leaned his head to snuggle into her shoulder as he began to lead the way.

"Now the item shouldn't be too far from here, but considering how the outside of the mountain changed I can only imagine the inside..."

Nefyrie let out a snort. She humored the vampire by allowing him to hold onto her, though she couldn't quite stop the lashing of her tails or the folding back of her ears. The jewelry all clanged together as the two of them walked, her eyebrows knitting themselves together once again.

"Obviously someone must have done this, correct?" she murmured, glancing sideways at him. "It's probably all just some sort of a sick prank, or whatever... Some digimon have a piss-poor sense of humor, afterall. Like Gotsumon."

"You do have a point...but would be a lot of work to do in such a short amount of time. Especially considering how precise the carvings are." Vyers spoke as he began to guide the one he was cuddling again. Much to his pleasant surprise, the three sided double helix that looked to be made of crystal proved to be only a small distance away from the entrance of the cave.

Once the two drew closer the vampires grasp onto the feline digimon tightened as what looked to be a wall of mirrors appeared before the two. To the vampire, each one had a red edge which caused a confused expression to come across his face. Then in the mirror appeared a digimon that looked exactly like Vyers, the only difference being attire. The vampire in them mirror had a shirt that possessed no sleeves and his arms were covered in blood.

A sick smile began to draw on the reflections face as a crimson lightening formed in his hand. Once fully formed he  began to carve into the mirror. Each simple stroke caused a loud scream to ring out, as if someone was being cut open while alive without pain killers. Each scream rang out for each stroke of the crimson blade against the glass. Vyers's eyes went wide as his breathing rate began to increase while his pupils began to dilate. Once the screaming stop, this message was carved into the glass.

'I will never die, just like how you will never forget. And to think, you almost didn't remember their screams.'

The discomfort and edge of tightness around her flesh had gained her attention. She turned her attention to the vampire, who appeared transfixed with wide eyes and pupils on his reflection. Nefyrie's fur had bristled, and, with swift movements, she wrapped her fingers and claws around the Myotismon's forearm. Wizardmon's words echoed in her mind like a mantra and she reacted upon them almost immediately.

"Vyers," she breathed quickly, stopping the two of them with surprising strength. She attempted to pull him back, away from the mirrors and towards the way they had come. "Vyers! Vyers, are you even listening to me? Look at me!"

The red crystal only shinned brightly behind the ruined glass. The vampire in the mirror only gave a shrill fit of laughter in Vyers voice. As the reflection started to laugh the glass began to crack from the center. The crack started to small, but just like a heart beat every few seconds in a rhythmic patter the crack spread. Soon the whole glass shattered and the laughing ceased all together. The shards that should have hit the ground did not make a single sound as the faded from a reality they were never part of.

Vyers meanwhile gave even more raged breaths as panic began to sweep over his system. Sweat began to form on his fore head and brows as he started to cough violent from the sheer trauma and panic the images had conjured inside of him.
